Unlock the Fun Side of diabetes
Get to
know me
You made it this far, so why not learn a bit more about me and my numbered story? :)
I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when I was 9 years old, which was over 35 years ago now. Back then, our blood glucose meters were almost the size of a VHS tape and there were multiple steps that we needed to take to get a blood sugar reading 5 minutes later. We did not have short-acting insulin like what we use today. Instead, we used “Regular” or “R” insulin. It took longer to work and it made managing diabetes more difficult. But we didn’t know any differently.
I’ve spent the last 7 years deep diving into many things that affect my overall health. I’ve researched it all, in hopes that I stumble upon the one thing that will make this disease go away. It has been with me, constantly reminding me of its existence, 24-7-365. Not every day is a battle of my body vs. my body, but battle or no battle- it is there.
